Keep in mind when goku did this with pikkon this was right after the cell saga. Whis's fastest speed in super is Speed = 1.488x10^26 m/s ≈ 498 quadrillions c. Goku and Pikkon Cross the Afterlife (Redone) VS Battles Wiki Technically you don’t need to do the finger thing for Instant Transmission to work normally, but it takes longer to do it. It’s possible that Granolah’s technique (which for some reason Gas didn’t use later on, likely because he forgor) apparently does not require to lock in on energy, and he doesn’t need to do the finger thing. This technique does not move faster than Instant Transmission, Goku meant he can activate it faster than Instant Transmission, which makes sense. Meaning Meta-Cooler just punched Goku faster than he can rematerialize.Īnother thing is when Granolah used a technique that according to Goku is faster than Instant Transmission, which in canon IS instant (probably). This by definition means its not true teleportation, and therefore not instant. In anime filler (which the movies are canon to and vice versa), Goku explains that Instant Transmission is done through entering the “Teleportation Realm”, and manually disassembling your atoms, then reassembling them in the space of arrival. Meta-Cooler did intercept Goku mid teleportation.īut Instant Transmission isn’t instant in the movies. People have said in the past that he has immeasurable or infinite speed because he was faster than or the same speed as Instant Transmission respectively.Īnd it has some truth. So in retrospect, the characters would have to move 2.7 billion miles in a second, but that wouldn't be the issue, but hey, that's just a theory.Ok nobody has brought this up in a while but I would like to disprove it anyway, along with a few other things.įor those who don’t know, having Immeasurable speed is being faster than instant movement. A DBZ character would also experience abberation, a phenomenon when the photons, (including the ones behind you) would appear to move to the front of you, condensing your field of view to a small, tunnel-like area. To you, if 20 minutes on Earth passed, the time to you would only be a couple seconds, due to the fact that the faster you go, the slower time does. Another thing is, if the person was able to achieve faster than light-speeds, time would dialate. Now I don't mean they would get tall or fat, but according to Einstein's theory of relativity, that person's mass would be come Infinite, along with the amount of energy needed to travel that far. But would that have a physical effect on the characters? First off, they would get large, very large. They could simply be moving so fast that they can not be seen. First off, where do they go in instant transmission? They simply disappear in one place and reappear in another. But, would that have an effect on the characters. That means characters would have to move 2.7 billion miles in a second. So let's say Earth and Neptune are currently on opposite sides of the Sun. When on the opposite side of the Sun from each other, they get to be around 2.7 billion miles away. When Earth and Neptune are on the same side of the Sun, the closest they get is 2.5 billion miles from each other. But how fast would these characters have to be moving in instant transmission to reach a destination instantly? Let's use a location that is fairly close to Earth and we can correctly use the distance between Earth and the planet in question. The character puts their index and middle finger to their forehead and thinks of a location and they are instantly transported there. If you aren't familiar with DBZ, I'll give you a quick rundown of instant transmission. Anyone who is fan of anime, or more specifically, Dragon Ball Z, knows about an ability many characters posses, instant transmission.
